At a young age, Ximena learned how to survive by herself. Coming from a miserable family, she usually spends time by herself and watches as the neighboring children get to spend time with their families. The only thing that keeps their household alive is the screams of her mom, scolding her dad all over again— a usual scenery. Her dad’s addiction to alcohol started when she was still a young girl and he never got through it. During her high school years, the young girl got in trouble for fighting back when a schoolmate tried to bring her down, and instead of receiving comforting words from her own family, all she got was a series of degrading statements. At that moment, she realized enough is enough. The young girl escaped home and ran away as far as she could knowing she was not leaving anything behind because there was nothing to take with her anyway.

On her journey just by walking around the streets of Madrid, Spain— the girl found herself standing in front of a mysterious house. All she wanted was money. Her “co-workers” nicknamed her the “Rosa” or “The Thorned Rose” because of her striking beauty and her polluted soul.

While hanging around in their local park one time, Ximena bumped into someone she deemed familiar.
